so, i don’t know if anyone listens to joanna newsom, but gosh i love her lyrics… i mean, sawdust and diamonds? cosmia? not to mention all the songs on the milk eyed mender. you find a whole new appreciation for english while learning, like, ten million new words (shoal, caravel, catenaries, dirigible, adage, exhume, dirge, vestal, bedraggled, poetaster, ululate, accrue- who uses words like that :D)

for those of you who don’t know who she is, she’s an amazing harpist! she’s the one on my banner playing the harp, naturally. i really love that she doesn’t do traditional celtic harp music like harpists are “supposed to”- she does this crazy modern-american-pirate-folk music. i could’ve thrown in some more hyphens, but yeah… you guys get the picture
