gosh i love their accents
so, we all know that anime theme song lyrics are just about the funniest things in the entire universe, but get a load of this:
(theme song to pita-ten)
WAKE UP ANGEL:
even if i’m not very good at cooking,
i can buy my food at convenient stores.
if my room is messy,
i always put it off to a later time.
even if i can’t finish the task,
it doesn’t really bother me.
if i see a UFO in the sky,
i don’t really care that much.
i won’t do it. i won’t. i won’t.
i won’t do it. i won’t. i won’t.
even if i could calculate it,
i still have to experience it.
i don’t understand anything.
i might miss you.
to love and be loved
a wish nevertheless is endless
i wish “hello, wake up angel”
to the angel within my chest, wake up!
i wish “hello, i say i love you”
i will always love you forever
i wish “hello! merci chao i love you!!”
turn around a little!

my goodness…….
so, no doubt you saw that paragon of complete magnificence up there, now let me explain: last night i got the pleasure of seeing “in the land of women” at the dollar theater with my new friends. the ticket was actually TWO dollars, but that’s not the point- adam brody plays the main character. now, i’m not one to gallivant around talking about celebrities to every person i meet on the street, but adam brody is definitely my celebrity crush in a quiet, non-gallivanting way.

anyway, there was something else i thought i’d share:
while we were driving around, my friend mckenzie asks us all what we’ve been doing to stay connected/grow closer to god this summer. well, earlier that day i was thinking about how sad it was that we couldn’t see god… it’s such a shame, really. i looked up and saw a beautiful tree embracing the breeze as it passed and i thought to myself, “god created that tree right in front of me.” now, he probably didn’t create that particular tree (it came from a seed of a tree that came from a seed of a tree, etc), but god created that model of tree. he created it with his very hands! so, i told that to the girls and i said, “it’s kind of like knowing about a person and then finding their journal.”
so… maybe you should just think of life as reading god’s journal…
and here’s another picture of adam brody ![]()

wow wow wow.
gymnastics was soooo fun today. i did many a round off back handspring and side aerial! if you want to see what they look like, you can check it out the round off back handspring here and the side aerial here. it was quite fun. we also starting doing this ribbon test thing. you get a different colored ribbon for each set of skills you can complete- we only made it up to the pink ribbon (the first one), but i’m really determined to get the gold one!

after gymnastics, it started to rain quite heavily, so we got a movie and some pizza! i recommend “miss potter” to all of you. it’s the story of the author/illustrator beatrix potter, who wrote all those adorable stories about peter rabbit and the others. i’m sure you all know who she is :]. it was so lovely!

and that is all for today… i’m wonderfully sleepy right now :]
so, it’s monday again.
do you ever wonder why we don’t go stark raving mad at the monotony of our lives consisting of the same days, coming at the same times? shouldn’t it drive us to insanity?? i mean, since the day i was born to the day i die, it will always be “monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday” and just start all over again!
well, i shouldn’t get into a rage. that’s my only consolation for death. if you think about it, not even death is the end! when you die, you don’t get to “rest in peace”, you have to exist FOREVER whether you like it or not. if i can stand the same repeating cycles of the days of the week, perhaps i won’t be bored having to live forever. can you imagine going through the first 70000 trillion years and then suddenly “run out” of things to do? it seems inevitable!

sometimes i think god just created us because he was bored… man, did he realize what he was getting into? he’s probably so greatly distressed at the situation of the world- all the children sleeping on cold, unforgiving streets and going through garbage to find food, people being martyred and tortured, etc. i hope he doesn’t regret making us… actually, i’m pretty sure he does. that’s why he wiped out the world except for noah and his family.
sorry if i just made your day a little worse…
well, you all can find the bright side on your own this time because i’m going to read harry potter now
well, i’m back from camp:

those were the girls in my room (mckenzie, me, lindsay, amy and hollie). haha, we all had a great time. i met some pretty crazy people… it was very rewarding though, because i now have an immense list of amazing musicians to check out- courtesy of sam. he can do this ridiculously amazing pterodactyl sound! i laugh at the mere thought!
well, that’s all for now…
exactly.

today was a swelteringly hot day. i went to winter park… and while walking around, my little brother shouts, “oh my gosh! look at that!”. i turn around and see a frog… or so i think:
dun-dun-dunnnn! (dramatic music)

in other news, i’m leaving for youth camp this monday!! woo hoo! my (only) friend at youth, who happens to be a youth leader, got me a scholarship :D. we’re heading off to cocoa beach at 9:00 AM and coming back four days later. i’m so excited! i can’t wait

so i just finished watching this amazing movie, which i have adored since jr. high, called “the secret of roan inish”. it takes place in the beautiful country of ireland. i remember getting so into it that one of my friends and i decided to learn gaelic together. we did a few lessons a day and practiced with each other at school :D. here’s the website, if anyone’s interested. we could actually carry on a decent conversation! now i’m really interested in the difference between irish gaelic and scottish gaelic.

other than that, i LOVE studio ghibli films (spirited away, castle in the sky, kiki’s delivery service, my neighbor totoro, etc.). i remember the first time i saw spirited away… i was so terrified, i never wanted to watch it again! haha, now it’s one of my all-time favorites. you all should definitely watch some good anime. well, i mean, if you want to. whatever.

dearest michael,
today is your birthday. sort of. more like, 19 years ago today was your birthday… congratulations on making it through another year! we miss you so much over here… i heard a reggae band today. they played that song “jammin’” and it totally reminded me of you. man, it’s your last year as a teenager! you’re getting so old!
just remember, you’re never too old to play the legend of zelda
love you sooooooo much!!!
erica, andorinha, ansus berkana… your lil’ sis
