I love Amelie. I love the movie and I love the soundtrack. It really moves something within me. The sweet, sad sounds remind me that there are so many lonely people in the world. They remind me how important friends are.

What’s your favorite soundtrack and why?

We took a visit to our old city: Santa Barbara. I lived there when I was a wee child of 8. Lovely, lovely, lovely place.

So for two weeks I was volunteering at a program called Illuminate (or ‘Illuminati’ as I call it :D). It’s basically a free summer camp for inner city kids. I worked in Music. My brother, Tino, Jason, Andy, Seth and I showed these kids different styles of music and wrote a song with them to show their parents at the final performance.
*snif* I didn’t think I would miss them so much!

No air conditioning and no chairs the whole 2 weeks. We had the hottest room of all the classes too:

Tania(L) and Marleen(R). Those two are smart cousins! Tania started reading Inkheart after she saw it in my bag one day!

Viviana. I think she was half Mexican half Egyptian…

Paulina and Tania. So cute! Paulina didn’t say a word the first few days. One day I spoke to her in Spanish and she never left my side after that.

Rodrigo and Esmeralda. Fireballs of mischief and energy, let me tell you!

Lina, Melissa, Alejandra and Eric. Man, I miss them!

Who’s the best? Music!

Well, there is an appreciation dinner tonight so I’ll have some reunion pictures later (of the teachers, not the kids though).

Yes yes yes people!! I got to see Thievery Corporation in concert last Sunday night at the Hollywood Bowl!
